The Marketplace Returns May 10

Organizers are gearing up for another great season at the 3rd and Market Street in Downtown Parkersburg.  Be sure to join them in welcoming back some of your favorite vendors on Friday, May 10.  Fresh fruits, veggies, eggs, protein, baked goods, flowers, soaps, sundries and food trucks are just a few of the things you’ll find at the Marketplace every Tuesday and Friday (May-September) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. this season.

To kick-start the new season, organizers have several activities planned.  First, Danny Cunningham, also known as the Pick ‘N Dawg, will be Jamin’ on the Square at 11 a.m.  At Noon, Gene Evans, Program Director for the Culinary Arts Academy at West Virginia University at Parkersburg, and some of his students will heat things up with a very special cooking demonstration.  And if you are one of the first 100 mother’s to stop by the Information Booth that morning, you will receive a free Dahlia Plant sponsored by Dave’s Greenhouse and your DFM!

And this year, what was once a parking lot for City workers is now available for public parking.  The lot is adjacent to the Market and across from the Municipal Building on 3rd Street.  Directional signage will also be placed along the roadway to help get you to the lot. It just got a whole lot easier to visit your Marketplace!
